A word or two about the following sites:

I'm not here to "Rate" these commercial sites.
Some are very well done and some are outright atrocious.
Some will stand the test of time and others will go by the wayside.
The important thing is, they are there for our use, so use all of them.
I don't expect you to do it all in one sitting. Sign up for one or two then come back another time and sign up for a few more.

I found one of my closest friends on one of these sites and she was the only one from my entire school that was listed on the site at that time. She wasn't on any of the more popular sites. So, while you may think some of these sites may be a waste of your time, there is a chance the person that your seeking will either be listed or at some time in the future stumble upon that site.
A few minutes of your time may be well worth it.

Another thing worth mentioning:
I listed my mother on one of the more popular sites to see if anyone may have remembered her. While she has yet to hear from any of her old friends, an old boyfriend of my cousin recognized my mothers maiden name, contacted me, and reunited with my cousin. A year later they were married. They hadn't had contact in over 40 years!
So, while your at these sites, you may want to sign up your parents or others that don't have a PC of their own.

Classmates.com:
There are many people annoyed at this site because they charge a $30 per year fee. My issue with that is that they don't guarantee the person that you wish to contact has a valid e-mail address.
They are, by far, the most popular alumni site on the web because they advertise everywhere. They need money for the advertising, and for running such an enormous site, so they charge a fee. To me, it's worth more than $30 if your able to reunite with someone you care for or once cared for.
If you don't have the money, or don't wish to pay them, try posting a nice message on our message board. We have some terrific members on our forum that can be very helpful at times.
